Hello, I’m Evan Steeg, and I thank Luc and the other organizers for the opportunity to meet and hear from such a diverse mix of creative and energetic people.
My checkered past: Taught AI and bioinformatics at Queen’s U. Founded and ran a life sciences data mining company, Molecular Mining, from Kingston and Boston. Spearheaded marketing and client relations at CMC Microsystems. More recently, assisting universities, government labs and start-ups in technology transfer and early-stage commercialization efforts.
My current obsessions include: Personalized medicine, medical devices; innovation policy; and how we might re-start Ottawa’s tech economy.
